Many of our clients dream of spacious beautiful bathrooms, but not every house especially in older Toronto homes, have the same space as a new custom built house would. But with some smart planning anything is achievable. For a small space there is a great amount of detail and consideration. It was critical to make this space as functional as possible. These are some of the following things we did for the gray and white bathroom scheme: replaced a swing door with a pocket door, added additional storage above the toilet, created a stand up alcove shower to open up the space visually. In smaller bathrooms, one of the main concerns is lack of storage for all the bathroom essentials. For an interesting look and pure functionality we designed a custom cabinet above the toilet with a shelf that ran from the cabinet over the top of the vanity, providing a neat balance between closed and open storage.
In the green and white colour scheme bathroom, there are 5 different types of marble tile/mosaic to create this spectacular look. The key is all about layering. The shower is surrounded by crystal white 12”x24” tile. To highlight the plumbing shower fixtures an accent wall panel is created using green stone pebble mosaic framed by white Thassos marble bar moldings. The floor is a combination of long octagonal mosaic bordered by linear strip mosaic tile. When working with a small space, especially a bathroom, sometimes it really helps having custom millwork pieces in order to utilize every inch in the best possible way. In this case we designed a linen cabinet and a paneled tub skirt. To keep the space entirely consistent, the vanity was also custom designed to match the millwork details and retain the same white colour.
